New Year Resolution, Traveling Every Month of the Year

Back in 2017, my new year resolution was to travel every month of the year.

For me, 2017 was such a fun and crucial year in my life. So, traveling every month of the year only made my desire to explore the world bigger. It opened my eyes to a bigger world outside my comfort zone which lead me to finally move to NYC by December.

This year with the pandemic I am aware it will be difficult. Therefore, make sure to save this post for future reference.

January – San Francisco

This was a fun and spontaneous 4-day trip. I had a day left of vacation with a holiday coming up. So, I texted my best friend to see if she had any days off and she wanted to travel somewhere. Literally, in a matter of 12 hours, we were booking a trip to San Francisco.

March – Disney World

This 24-hour trip to Orlando was another spontaneous trip with my best friend. There was a reggae band playing at a bar so we decided to make the trip. And, we could not leave Orlando without a stop at Magic Kingdom!

May – Amalfi Coast

Amalfi Coast was a very spiritual trip for me. I have never been so present on a trip than in this one. Also, on top of that, I traveled to a bucket list place with my two best friends.

June – Milan

Part of my Amalfi Coast trip was to make a stop in Milan. I did not love this city to be honest but I had the BEST gelato I have tried in my life. The gelateria is by the Doumo and it is called Cioccolati Italiani.

July – NYC

In July, my best friend and I decided to go to NYC for a foodie weekend. To be honest, it was not that much of a foodie weekend, but it was a fun one. NYC is ALWAYS a good idea!

September – Key West

Key West is just a 3-hour drive from Miami and the perfect escape to feel like you are somewhere different than home.

October – Galapagos Islands

I had not been in the Galapagos Islands since I was 6 years old. When my dad said that he wanted to celebrate his 60th birthday with a trip to Galapagos, I was the first one to book the trip! I loved seeing the islands through my dad’s eyes. Fun fact, my dad was a tourist guide in the Galapagos Islands when he was in his early 20s.

October – Guayaquil

Every year I try to visit my hometown. So, I used my trip to the Galapagos Islands to also make a stop in Guayaquil and visit family and friends.

November – NYC

In my trip to Italy in the Spring, I finally made the decision to move to NYC. So, in November I went to the city for a few days to a job fair.

December – NYC

At the end of November, I accepted a job in the city, and in the second week of December, I was boarding a one-way flight to NYC.
